ramblings from an internet wolf

night

The same night creeps up on me. The same darkness I drown in time and time again. It’s quiet chaos approaches, watching my movements carefully. I can’t provoke it, for it will only strike back more viciously. So I stay quiet, I indulge myself in things that the night fears. I don’t fear it, in fact, I wait for its familiar presence to surround me. It knows me, it knows my mind. I can only accept it, I'll let it corrupt the sky as I lie awake.

The night is here. The same night that crowds my mind and infests my emotions. It’s chaos will seep into my veins, and control my movements. It’s another night, just like the previous. Another familiar isolation to drag me down. The same mundane agony I embrace has come for me again.

Its humanoid form stands behind me. An inky-black amalgamation of hatred. I won’t look at it, I can’t look at it. It’ll move closer on its own, slowly gathering the courage to run its hands against my skin. Carefully, the horrible, cold, claws graze my flesh. I can’t react, it doesn’t like that. I need to just let it happen, let it tear me apart. The claws find their way back to the same spots, the same flesh it has pierced previously. It will slice them open, bleeding out old wounds I begged to heal. I feel the sorrowful infection of my bloodstream as it flows in once again.
